DIY at home
I have recently been considering selling my house and as with a lot of things similar to this have been attempting to work out what the best path to make the house look good before we either sell our house or remain in it for a while longer. I began by looking at various rooms in the house and considering what I might do to better them and iron out the issues I might feel about them.
The heart of my house is the kitchen so I began by looking at the kitchen layout, we have a fitted kitchen which is quite east to use with a reasonable work space (fortunately I talked to a local kitchen business about kitchen planning ahead of buying). The floor was a bit of an issue with just lino down which had got a little ripped up as I had shoved washing machines and fridges about in it. I sought out some tiling advice from a local business to get the floor tiles that would work in with the fitted kitchen ensuring that the room didn’t look to dark (just some of the small things you need to think about when you come to sell your house, initial impressions need to be just right within the small window somebody has to look at you house).
I then wanted to ensure the bathroom looked good, my bathroom layout was a little cramped because of some fitted cupboards which when removed gave me a lot more space (which if you are going on first view could help sell my house). Once again I went down to the local tiler for some useful tiling advice and used larger light tiles which appeared to open the space in the room, just one of the many things to be considering when purchasing bathroom tiles.
The other rooms I painted with a neutral light colour which seemed to draw the rooms out and gave the whole house a fresh look. I then stripped out as much stuff as I could and stored everything that wasn’t necessary away in the garage. Finished result, a house that I wanted to remain in, but after just one or two viewings brought to me from an online property site I have got some serious interest, so fingers crossed ill be able to sell my house soon.
